How To Manually Start Downloading Windows 10 Update


Microsoft started the roll-out of its new and most awaited OS – Windows 10. The OS offers many new and great innovations like voice assistant Cortana, Windows 10 Hello facial recognition and much more.

If you have reserved the free upgrade on Windows 7, or 8 and are not able to see the update notification, there is an easy fix which you can apply to manually start the download process.

Before you go further, ensure that Windows Update is set to download and install updates automatically.


  1. Click Start button.
  2. In the Search box, type CMD then press CTRL + Shift + Enter simultaneously.
  3. If the User Account Control dialogue box appears, confirm the action then click Continue/Okay.
  4. Once the Command Prompt appeared, enter the following command in black window and pressEnter.

Performing the above steps will surely gonna start Windows 10 update manually.
