Proud Pakistani Wins mBillionth Award In India

A proud moment for all Pakistanis around the globe.. Pakistani Entrepreneur “Abdul Muqsit” has won mBillionth Award South Asia for his Online Pastho Dictionary in “m-Culture & Heritage” category. He won the award on 18th July, 2014.

These awards were held in New Delhi, India. Unfortunately Abdul Muqsit couldn’t make it to the awards ceremony due to some security reasons.

mBillionth Awards South Asia were launched in 2010 and have been a great platform for recognizing innovations in Telecom and Mobile content, Applications and Models since then. Aim of mBillionth Awards is to explore, recognize & honor the best practices in Mobile & Telecom Industries across Afghanistan and South Asia.

Abdul Muqsit is a multidisciplinary designer born & raised in Peshawar, Pakistan and currently resides in Abu Dhabi, UAE. His goal is to create user-friendly and timeless websites that attract human eyes. He is the CEO of SoftEmblems, a Peshawar/Dubai based startup and was also speaker in Digital Youth Summit 2014. He has created an online English to Pashto Dictionary for every one to use. Currently ThePashto.com has over 16,000 words for English to Pashto and Pashto to English translation. His undying passion for Pashto has brought him this far.

As mentioned above, the product that won the award is Pashto multi-purpose Dictionary. There were about 300 applicants from 8 different countries of South Asia participating in the event. This application was selected in the top 3 finalists and in the end, won the award in Culture & Heritage category. The other two competitors that were chosen with him as finalists were Indians.
In addition to the web application, thepashto.com has its own App that is available to download on Google Play. The interface is user-friendly. It has dynamic and colorful menus, beautiful layout, lovely background images, light pages, Pashto Phonetic Keyboard, and much more. The App has already bagged the score of 4.2 on Google Play Store.
